Description

Super Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is a rich, comforting loaf that’s soft, fluffy, and bursting with gooey chocolate chips. Made with overripe bananas and simple ingredients, it’s perfect for breakfast, snacking, or dessert. Easy to prepare and always a hit, this recipe is a delicious way to use up bananas.

Ingredients

1¾ cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup sugar

½ cup unsalted butter

2 large eggs

3 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, beat the sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.

  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and mashed bananas.

  5. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just combined.

  6. Fold in most of the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and top with remaining chocolate chips.

  8. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  9. Cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture.
  • For added texture, include chopped nuts or a sprinkle of oats on top.
  • Toss chocolate chips in a little flour to prevent them from sinking.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temp (3 days) or fridge (5 days).
  • Freeze slices or the whole loaf for up to 2 months.
