Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a bundt pan (or spray well with baking spray).
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup butter and 2 ½ cups granulated sugar until light and fluffy, 4–5 minutes.
  3. Add eggs and extracts: Add the 4 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon almond extract.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder, and ½ teaspoon salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three parts, alternating with 1 cup sour cream. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in strawberries: Gently fold in the 1 ½ cups chopped strawberries tossed in 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour.
  6. Bake: Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and glaze: Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and vanilla extract. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
