Description
This Sour Cream Banana Bread recipe is a classic breakfast treat that is incredibly moist and flavorful. You can even swap out the sour cream for Greek yogurt for a slightly tangy twist.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups flour
 - 1 tsp. baking soda
 - ½ tsp. salt
 
Wet Ingredients:
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
 - 1 cup sugar
 - 2 eggs, beaten
 - 1 cup mashed bananas (about 3 bananas)
 - ½ cup sour cream
 - 1 tsp. vanilla extract
 - 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
 
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch loaf pan.
 - Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
 - Cream Butter and Sugar: In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
 - Add Eggs and Bananas: Beat in the eggs and then stir in the mashed bananas.
 - Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Mix in the sour cream and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
 - Optional Nuts: Fold in the chopped walnuts, if using.
 - Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
 - Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

- You can add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
 - This bread freezes well, so you can make a double batch and store one for later.
