Description

Indulge in the decadent and irresistible Salt River Bars. These sweet and salty treats are perfect for any occasion, whether you’re hosting a party or simply craving a delicious dessert. Layers of buttery crackers sandwich rich caramel and a luscious chocolate topping, finished with a sprinkle of Maldon sea salt for the perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

Club crackers layer:

  • 90 Club crackers

Caramel layer:

  • 1 cup butter, salted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 3/4 cups heavy cream

Chocolate topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • Maldon sea salt for finishing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal. Spray with nonstick spray.
  2. Layer the crackers: Arrange a layer of Club crackers on the bottom of the pan.
  3. Make the caramel: In a pan, melt butter, brown sugar, graham cracker crumbs, and heavy cream. Boil for 7 minutes.
  4. Layer and chill: Pour half of the caramel over crackers, add another cracker layer, then top with remaining caramel. Chill.
  5. Prepare chocolate topping: Melt chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter. Spread over caramel layer and sprinkle with sea salt.
  6. Chill and cut: Refrigerate for 1-2 hours, then cut into bars with a sharp knife.
