Refreshing Strawberry Matcha Latte is a colorful, antioxidant-rich drink that layers sweet strawberry purée, creamy milk, and earthy matcha for a balanced and vibrant beverage. Served over ice, it’s as visually stunning as it is delicious, making it perfect for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, brunch, or a lighter alternative to coffee.
Ingredients
½ cup fresh strawberries, hulled
1 teaspoon matcha powder
2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling)
¾ cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
Ice cubes
Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Blend strawberries until smooth, then strain to remove seeds.
- Spoon strawberry purée into the bottom of a tall glass.
- In a small bowl, whisk matcha with hot water until frothy and lump-free.
- Slowly pour milk over the strawberry layer, using the back of a spoon to preserve separation.
- Gently pour the prepared matcha over the milk, again using a spoon or ice cubes to keep layers distinct.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Best enjoyed fresh for the layered effect.
- Strawberry purée can be prepped up to 2 days in advance and refrigerated.
- Sweetener is optional depending on the ripeness of the strawberries.
- Pouring slowly is key to maintaining the layered look.
- Works as both an iced latte or a cozy hot drink with warmed milk and purée.
