Description

Ingredients

Hoagie Rolls:

  • 2 hoagie rolls, sliced in half (but not all the way through)

Vegetable Mix:

  • 1 medium onion, sliced into strips
  • 1 medium green pepper, sliced into strips
  • 6 ounce (170 g) portobello mushrooms, sliced

Steak Filling:

  • 3/4 pound (340 g) thinly sliced ribeye steak
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup (132 g) shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375 °F (191 °C). Place the hoagie rolls on aluminum foil.
  2. Sauté vegetables: In a skillet, sauté onions and green peppers for 3-4 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until softened. Set aside.
  3. Cook steak: In the same skillet, cook the steak until done. Add back vegetables, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble: Open hoagie rolls, fill with meat and top with provolone cheese. Repeat for second roll.
  5. Bake: Wrap sandwiches in foil and bake for 15 minutes at 375 °F (191 °C).
  6. Serve: Unwrap carefully and enjoy!
