Indulge in the rich, savory flavors of a Halal Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich! This sandwich features tender, juicy beef, caramelized onions, and melted provolone cheese (or Cheez Whiz), all tucked inside a soft hoagie roll. Perfect for game day, cozy dinners, or anytime you’re craving a hearty, flavorful meal, this sandwich is sure to satisfy your taste buds!

Ingredients

1 lb thinly sliced ribeye beef

4 soft hoagie rolls

1 large sweet onion, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

8 oz provolone cheese or Cheez Whiz

Salt, pepper, garlic powder

Oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Vegetables:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and green bell pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened and lightly caramelized.
  2. Cook the Beef:
Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned but still juicy.
  3.  Melt the Cheese:
Lower the heat and top the beef mixture with provolone cheese or Cheez Whiz. Cover the skillet and cook for a couple of minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spoon the beef and cheese mixture into the hoagie rolls. Serve immediately with a side of fries or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Cheese options: While provolone is classic, you can also use mozzarella, cheddar, or even American cheese if you prefer.
  • Toppings: Add sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, or even hot sauce to customize your Philly cheesesteak.
  • Vegetarian option: Substitute the beef with grilled portobello mushrooms or a plant-based beef alternative for a vegetarian version.
