Description
This Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt is a creamy, protein-packed dessert that combines the richness of peanut butter with the tanginess of Greek yogurt. Sweetened with honey or maple syrup, it’s a healthier alternative to traditional ice cream, with a smooth, scoopable texture. Perfect for a refreshing treat, it’s easy to make and customizable with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
For the Frozen Yogurt:
2 cups plain Greek yogurt
½ cup natural peanut butter (well stirred)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup (optional)
Optional Toppings:
2 tablespoons crushed dry-roasted peanuts
1 tablespoon mini dark chocolate chips
A light drizzle of extra peanut butter
Instructions
- Combine the Base Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, natural peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add honey or maple syrup to taste for added sweetness.
- Prepare for Freezing: Lightly grease or line a loaf pan or any freezer-safe container with parchment paper. Pour the peanut butter yogurt mixture into the container, smoothing the surface with a spatula. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or a lid.
- Freeze Until Firm: Place the container in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or overnight for a creamier texture.
- Serve: For a soft-serve texture, remove the container from the freezer 3–5 minutes before serving. For clean cuts, run a sharp knife under hot water, dry it, and slice the frozen yogurt into bars or bricks.
- Add Toppings: Before serving, top with crushed dry-roasted peanuts, mini dark chocolate chips, and a drizzle of extra peanut butter if desired.
Notes
- Customize with mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a melted chocolate swirl for extra texture.
- Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of honey or maple syrup.
- Add a pinch of sea salt or a tablespoon of cocoa powder for flavor variety.
