Description

This Orange Posset is a rich, creamy, and citrusy dessert served in orange shells for a stunning presentation. Easy to make in 30 minutes with simple ingredients, it’s perfect for parties and special occasions.


Ingredients

For the Posset

½ cup fresh cream (120 ml)

½ cup fresh milk (120 ml)

⅛ cup sugar (25 g)

⅛ teaspoon salt (pinch)

⅛ teaspoon turmeric powder (for color)

2 teaspoons orange zest

¼ teaspoon vanilla essence

½ tablespoon fresh orange juice (7 ml)

For Serving

3 oranges, halved and hollowed out

Chocolate shavings for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cut oranges in half and scoop out the flesh to create shells.

  2. In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, sugar, salt, turmeric, orange zest, and vanilla.

  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in orange juice.

  5. Pour mixture into orange shells and refrigerate at least 3 hours until set.

  6. Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh cream for best texture.
  • Turmeric adds natural color but can be skipped.
  • Avoid adding orange juice while mixture is boiling to prevent curdling.
