Ingredients
Swiss Chard
- 1 bunch of swiss chard, approximately 6 to 8 stems
Other Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup water
- Kosher salt, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the Swiss chard: Remove the stems at the bottom of the leaves and slice them. Roll the leaves into a cigar-like shape and slice horizontally into one-inch wide strips.
- Cook the garlic and stems: Heat olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, then add water and the sliced chard stems. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until stems soften.
- Add the leaves: Add the chard leaves to the pan and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the leaves have wilted down.
- Serve: Sprinkle kosher salt to taste over the sautéed Swiss chard before serving.
