Description

These irresistible sautéed grilled garlic mushrooms are packed with flavor and make the perfect side dish or topping. Fresh mushrooms are sautéed in a buttery garlic sauce, and optional grilling adds a smoky touch. Perfect for any meal, these savory mushrooms are quick and easy to make, delivering a burst of earthy, garlicky goodness in every bite.

Ingredients

For the Mushrooms:

1 pound fresh mushrooms (cremini or button)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Grilling (Optional):

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Wash the mushrooms thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel to avoid sogginess during cooking.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and olive oil until bubbling but not browned. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Grill (Optional): If grilling, brush the mushrooms with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes on each side until lightly charred.
  4. Cook Mushrooms: If sautéing, add the mushrooms to the skillet and spread them out evenly. Let them cook undisturbed for about 5 minutes until they start turning golden brown. Season with salt and pepper, stir gently, and continue cooking for another 5–7 minutes until tender and beautifully caramelized.
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and toss in freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately as a side dish or atop pasta, steak, or burgers.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding fresh thyme or rosemary while cooking.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy kick or top with grated Parmesan for a cheesy twist.
