Fall Pumpkin Hummus is a seasonal delight that combines creamy pumpkin puree with zesty lemon and warm spices. This cozy, flavorful dip is perfect for fall gatherings, casual snacks, or as a spread for sandwiches. Easy to make and healthy, it’s packed with fiber, healthy fats, and the rich, comforting flavors of the season. Serve with pita chips, fresh veggies, or as a fall-inspired sandwich spread to enjoy the flavors of autumn.

Ingredients

1 cup canned pumpkin puree

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, rinsed and drained

¼ cup tahini

2 cloves garlic

2 tbsp lemon juice

½ tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
Gather all the ingredients and place them in a food processor.
  2. Blend the Hummus:
Add the pumpkin puree, chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Olive Oil:
With the food processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the hummus reaches a creamy consistency.
  4. Taste and Adjust:
Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning with more salt, pepper, or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Chill:
Transfer the hummus to a serving dish and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve:
Serve the hummus with warm pita chips, fresh vegetables, or as a spread on sandwiches.

Notes

  • Adjusting the Texture: If you prefer a smoother hummus, add a little more olive oil or water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Add More Spice: Feel free to adjust the cinnamon or add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice for an even more autumnal flavor.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
