Description

These Crock Pot Sloppy Joes are a classic and comforting American dish perfect for a hearty family dinner. The slow cooker does all the work to meld the flavors together into a deliciously sloppy filling for buns.


Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 2 Celery Stalks minced
  • 1/3 cup Yellow or White Onion minced
  • 1/3 cup Green Pepper minced

Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 8oz. can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Sea Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste

Serving:

  • 8 Hamburger Buns (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Veggies: Mince the celery, onion, and green pepper.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef and minced veggies until beef is cooked and veggies are soft.
  3. Drain Grease: If needed, drain excess grease from the skillet.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Transfer meat mixture to slow cooker. Add in ketchup, barbecue sauce, tomato sauce, brown sugar, mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Cook: Cook on low in the slow cooker for 2-3 hours.
  6. Serve: Serve the sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns and enjoy!
