Description
These Crock Pot Sloppy Joes are a classic and comforting American dish perfect for a hearty family dinner. The slow cooker does all the work to meld the flavors together into a deliciously sloppy filling for buns.
Ingredients
Ground Beef Mixture:
- 1 pound Ground Beef
 - 2 Celery Stalks minced
 - 1/3 cup Yellow or White Onion minced
 - 1/3 cup Green Pepper minced
 
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup Ketchup
 - 1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce
 - 1 8oz. can Tomato Sauce
 - 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
 - 1 teaspoon Mustard Powder
 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
 - 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
 - Sea Salt to taste
 - Black Pepper to taste
 
Serving:
- 8 Hamburger Buns (optional)
 
Instructions
- Prepare Veggies: Mince the celery, onion, and green pepper.
 - Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook ground beef and minced veggies until beef is cooked and veggies are soft.
 - Drain Grease: If needed, drain excess grease from the skillet.
 - Combine Ingredients: Transfer meat mixture to slow cooker. Add in ketchup, barbecue sauce, tomato sauce, brown sugar, mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
 - Cook: Cook on low in the slow cooker for 2-3 hours.
 - Serve: Serve the sloppy joe mixture on hamburger buns and enjoy!

- If preferred, the meat mixture can be cooked on the stovetop for a quicker meal.
 - Leftover sloppy joes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
