Tender penne is tossed in a silky Alfredo sauce made with Velveeta cheese and heavy cream, then paired with Cajun-seasoned ground beef for a hearty, comforting meal that’s ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
1 lb ground beef
1½ cups Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons chopped parsley or green onions (optional, for garnish)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil and cook penne until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in garlic and Cajun seasoning; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine. Gradually add Velveeta cubes, stirring until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Add cooked penne to the skillet and toss to coat in the cheesy sauce. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- Use ground turkey, chicken, or vegetarian crumbles for a lighter option.
- Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
- Mix in veggies like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach for added flavor and nutrition.
- Reheat gently with a splash of milk or cream to keep the sauce smooth.
- Best enjoyed fresh; cream sauces don’t freeze well.
