Description
Cinnamon Puff Pastry Twists are golden, flaky pastries filled with buttery cinnamon sugar and finished with a sweet cinnamon dusting. Quick, easy, and irresistibly crisp, these bakery-style treats are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert—and they come together in under an hour with just 6 simple ingredients.
Ingredients
1 rectangular sheet puff pastry (375 g), thawed but cold
42 g butter (3 tbsp), melted
⅓ cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 egg yolk, whisked with a splash of milk or water (for egg wash)
For dusting:
1 tablespoon caster sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread over the bottom half of the puff pastry sheet, leaving a 1 cm border. Fold top half over filling and seal edges with a fork.
 - Cut pastry into 16 strips (about 1.5 cm wide). Twist each strip 3–4 times and place on baking sheet.
 - Freeze for 15 minutes to help hold shape.
 - Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush twists with egg wash.
 - Bake 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden.
 - Cool slightly, then toss gently in cinnamon-sugar dusting before serving.

Notes
- Chill pastry twists before baking for best puff.
 - Drizzle with vanilla glaze for extra sweetness.
 - Add nuts, apple butter, or chocolate chips inside for variations.
 - Serve warm for the crispiest, most flavorful results.
 - Freeze unbaked twists and bake straight from frozen.
