Description

These Chai Bars are a delightful treat that combines the warm, aromatic flavors of chai spices with wholesome oats and sweet raisins. Perfect for a cozy snack or dessert.


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves or allspice or pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned or melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 2/3 cups rolled oats (not quick-cooking oats)
  • 3/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare an 8×8 inch pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Butter: Melt or brown the butter and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Mix the Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients, then mix in the wet ingredients. Fold in the oats and raisins.
  4. Bake: Press the mixture into the pan and bake for 22-24 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
