  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for chili oil)

Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
  • Extra chili oil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Caramelize Onions: Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Add onions, sugar (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and caramelized.
