Description

This Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower recipe offers the same satisfying crunch and bold flavors as buffalo wings, but without the meat. Perfect for plant-based eaters, it’s crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and drenched in spicy buffalo sauce. Quick to make, with minimal oil, it’s the perfect healthier alternative for game days, parties, or anytime cravings.

Ingredients

1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets

½ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup water

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

¼ tsp smoked paprika

¼ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

¾ cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower: Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets, ensuring uniform size for even cooking.

  2. Make the Batter: Whisk flour, water, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth and thick enough to coat the cauliflower.

  3. Coat the Cauliflower: Add the cauliflower florets to the batter, ensuring they are well-coated. Shake off excess batter.

  4. Air Fry the Cauliflower: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place battered cauliflower florets in a single layer and air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway through.

  5. Prepare the Buffalo Sauce: Mix buffalo sauce with melted butter in a small bowl.

  6. Toss the Cauliflower in Buffalo Sauce: Once crispy and golden, toss the cauliflower florets in the buffalo sauce until evenly coated.

  7. Serve: Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dip and celery sticks.

Notes

  • Cauliflower Size: Ensure florets are uniform in size for even cooking.
  • Adjust Spice: For a milder version, mix more butter with the buffalo sauce.
  • Crispiness: For extra crisp, air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes before tossing in buffalo sauce.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
